- Struset SLA is used to provide a rapid set to sprayed concrete.
- This improves overhead spraying, permits thicker build in one pass and provides early support strength.
Advantages
- Low dust emission due to liquid form
- Rapid set allows thick sections to be built-up
- Minimum rebound
- Excellent for overhead application
- Can be used for ‘wet and dry’ processes
- Non-flammable
- Wet and dry surface applicable
- Low effect on long term strength and durability
- Accurate dosage possible
Typical dosage
The optimum dosage of Struset SLA to meet specific requirements should always be determined by trials using the materials and conditions that will be experienced in use. Typical rate of addition is 3 to 7 kg of Struset SLA powder/100 kg of cement.

Instructions for use
- Compatibility: Struset SLA is compatible with other STRUMIX admixtures for concrete. All admixtures should be added to the concrete separately and must not be mixed together prior to addition. The performance of concrete containing more than one admixture must be assessed by trial mixes to ensure that the desired combination of effects is obtained.
- Dispensing: Struset SLA is introduced to the nozzle or injector 4-5m behind the nozzle with any liquid dosage pump. Peristaltic dosage pumps are preferred over piston or membrane pumps for their accuracy and reliability. Struset SLA can be added with most common shotcrete equipment and dosage pumps available.
Packaging & Storage
- Struset SLA is available in 20 kg containers, 200 kg drums and 1100 kg IBC tank.
- Struset SLA has a minimum shelf life of 12 months at 20°C if kept in a dry store in the original, unopened packs. The shelf life will be reduced at higher ambient temperatures.
Health and safety
Struset SLA liquid is alkaline in saturated solution pH 13. Gloves and goggles must be worn. Prolonged contact with skin should be avoided and any material washed off with water immediately. Any accidental eye contamination should be washed with plenty of water and immediate medical attention should be sought. If swallowed, drink plenty of water followed by diluted vinegar or lemon juice. The treatment should be completed by drinking milk or olive oil. Medical attention should be sought. For spillages, wash with water.
Fire
Struset SLA is non-flammable.
